Where to Donate Formula

Here at 914Cares, the heart of what we do is centered around giving every child a fair shot at good health and happiness. So needless to say, we’re distraught over the formula shortage that our nation is facing.
We’ve consulted our trusted community partners, and encourage anyone with formula *already in your home* to donate to drop it off at one of the below locations. Please do NOT go seeking out new formula to purchase for the purpose of donation, as this can disrupt an already troubled supply.
  • Westhab, 123 E Post Road, White Plains *Enfamil only! Ask for Angela or Jessica in Childcare*
  • Fred’s Pantry, 137 N. Division Street, Peekskill (Saturday mornings only)
  • Mt Vernon Neighborhood Health Center, 107 W 4th St, Mt Vernon
  • Community Center of Northern Westchester, 84 Bedford Road, Katonah
  • Mt Kisco Interfaith Food Pantry, 300 Main St, Mt Kisco
  • Port Chester Carver Center, 400 Westchester Ave, Port Chester
  • HOPE Community Services 50 Washington Ave, New Rochelle

Program Overview

914Cares Literacy Library provides books to families and school districts in under-resourced communities.

All books we distribute are in good, clean condition and inspected by our resident librarian for age-appropriateness.

Every family and every classroom in Westchester deserve to have a sufficient supply of age-appropriate books to foster literacy, learning, and a love of reading.

Here are our staff’s favorite children’s books:

  • Nichole Culotta: The Giving Tree
  • Sarah Carmona: Miss Twiggley’s Tree
  • Lisa Horten: The Runaway Bunny
  • Brian McGinley: The Very Hungry Caterpillar
  • Jessica Reinmann: Goodnight Moon
  • Lauren Schwarzfeld: The Paperback Princess
  • Luis Tobar: The Rainbow Fish
  • Marjorie Troob: I Love You to the Moon and Back

  • Over 2,800 children and youth grades pre K-12 in Westchester County have experienced homelessness.
  • We distribute over 50,000 books each year.
Program highlights
  • Each month all our Community Partners can request as many books as they need for the children they work with.
  • Teachers from all over the county come into our Library and pick specific books for each of their students.
  • Our volunteer librarian, Miriam Minor, looks through every page of every book to make sure there are no rips, writing on or missing pages.
