Below, please find the latest 914Cares initiatives that are in progress and need community support.

Program Overview

914Cares Literacy Library provides books to families and school districts in under-resourced communities.

All books we distribute are in good, clean condition and inspected by our resident librarian for age-appropriateness.

Every family and every classroom in Westchester deserve to have a sufficient supply of age-appropriate books to foster literacy, learning, and a love of reading.

Here are our staff’s favorite children’s books:

  • Nichole Culotta: Giving Tree
  • Kerri Heady: Little Blue Truck
  • Brian McGinley: The Very Hungry Caterpillar
  • Jessica Reinmann: Good Night Moon
  • Lauren Schwarzfeld: Paperback Princess
  • Luis Tobar: The Rainbow Fish
  • Marjorie Troob: I love You to the Moon and Back
