Program Overview

914Cares Clothing+ provides each recipient with a unique Bag of Love containing a week’s worth of clothing packed specifically for each individual child.

About our Bags of Love:

  • Each bag contains new underwear and socks and a pair of new or like new sneakers.
  • In the winter we include coats, boots, hats and gloves.
  • Every Bag of Love contains appropriate bonus items (books, toys, hygiene products, period products, etc.).

Our goal is for the Bags of Love to represent more than just clothing. Our hope is that they boost the confidence and self-esteem of the recipient and give them the confidence to tackle each and every day with excitement and determination.

By the numbers
  • We distribute over 3,000 Bags of Love per year.
  • We work with over 95 Community Partners to make sure Bags of Love are distributed three times per year to each recipient.
  • We distribute over 2,000 coats every year.
Program highlights
  • Each item of clothing is inspected by our volunteers and is clean, in good condition, age-appropriate and seasonally aligned.
  • Eligible recipients include newborn to 18 years and adults in transition (those aging out of foster care, homeless, refugees, and those formerly incarcerated).
