Two inspiring Yonkers high school students were featured on News12 Westchester for their leadership in advancing the H.E.R.R. Initiative (Health, Equity, Representative, Resources) alongside 914Cares, which distributed the donated products across Westchester County. Through their advocacy and community outreach efforts, these young leaders collected 6,000 pads and tampons to help combat period poverty and raise awareness about menstrual inequity. Their efforts are helping ensure that more women and girls have access to essential period products with dignity and care. Lisa Horten, CEO 914Cares, also shared how the growing need for period supplies continues to impact individuals and families throughout the county.
